♯new ♯2020checklist ♯thesmashingpumpkins ♯billycorgan ♯altrock ♯alternative ♯synths ♯synthpop ♯synthrock 'CYR' self produced by Billy Corgan, so much so, it's difficult to categorize this as a "Smashing Pumpkins" record-- it's really William Corgan's shiny isolation chamber of indulgences completely unchecked (often nonsensical, flowerily, recondite, and arcane). The overwriting makes most tracks indecipherable, as it's just poetic phrasing, perhaps only selected for the sound patterns, assonance, or just the abstract materials. Maybe it'll take multiple listens to fully appreciate. I dunno, it's to difficult to recall anything memorable from 'Shiny and Oh So Bright' -- I get the feeling 'CYR' will be just as average.
