For jazz fans: Nova is the debut album by Steve Reid, which got a reissue this month. Reid is a famous jazz drummer who played with the likes of Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, Freddie Hubbard, Horace Silver, James Brown, Fela Kuti, Sun Ra et al. In 1969, Reid refused to register to be drafted for the Vietnam War and was sentenced to four years in prison. He got out on parole after a couple of years and then released his debut a few years later.
