Somewhat ♯shoegaze , a bit drowsy, and perhaps overly spare at times, although Tomberlin (Sarah Beth Tomberlin) has a careful exactness that makes every bright flourish of clarinets, piano or pedal steel sound like a gorgeous, shimmering oasis. Overall a beautiful album that can only be appreciated with a relaxed and full attention-- there were so many little layers found after multiple listens I hadn't noticed before.
