The Clash are described as a punk rock band but if I told you that you were about to hear a punk rock album, I feel like I would be lying. For a little over an hour, The Clash dig through their record collection and pick out their favourite albums. Then they bring out the blender, snap up the vinyl, and let everything mash together. Once everything is done, they dump the mixture on the floor and pour their punk rock sound over it. The mixture combines and what listeners are left with is a myriad of different genre blends held together by the group's punk rock sound and attitude. They craft a multitude of sticky choruses and lyrical subject matter so as to keep listeners frequently returning and there's no denying that it worked. So yes, The Clash is a punk rock band but that label makes them seem like so much less than they truly are, which is an incredible bunch of musicians ♯theclash ♯punk ♯rock ♯punkrock ♯londoncalling
