Sure there's similarities, a sad man with an acoustic guitar describing their drug use. -- But that's only a very small aspect. This album is more Andrew Bird or Jim James than Smith. Christian Lee Hutson's use of country orchestral schmaltz over sleepy down-beat journal entries is a bit too repetitive for my tastes.
