I asked for classic albums on instagram the other day and @vnzprn sent me a few including this one. I would consider myself a small Aphex fan, having heard Selected Ambient Works Vol. II and Syro but never having heard some of his more classic albums previously. I'm glad I checked this out though because it's fantastic. Like most ambient albums, Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is one that works incredibly well as background music while you're trying to think (I constantly find myself putting on Tim Hecker and Brian Eno when writing) but it also has enough going on and bubbling to the surface to make it an engaging listen as well. I would probably consider this more of an electronic album than an ambient one but, more importantly, I would consider it a fantastic record ♯ambient ♯electronic ♯aphextwin
