From guitar tone to the percussive tambor, from Britt Daniel's nuanced performances to the tight, thoughtful lyrics, this is perhaps the best Spoon album. There's no filler. Apparently over 30 songs were written for this LP, which suggests the careful editing and condensed essence that saturates each track. Immediately appealing, it all ends too soon!
