Matmos were given access to the entirety of Schaeffer’s recorded works to use as they saw fit, commissioned by the prestigious Instytutu Adama Mickiewicza. As interesting as the ♯avantgarde goes in unpredictable directions, most of this album sounds empty, near industrial silences until the next synthetic landmark. Perhaps true to Bogusław Schaeffer's experiments to fault, there isn't much to return to.
